Training / University Studies

Training: Certified Childcare Assistant (2016-2018)

During my training, I learned a lot about the basics of child education, pedagogical support in specific educational areas, and the planning of didactic approaches. This period of my education was also when I began to increasingly see myself as an artist. Instead of pursuing further vocational training to become an educator, I decided to obtain my high school diploma after completing my training, with the intention of subsequently studying in an artistic field.

I completed my education at the Vocational School of Schwerin "Health and Social Affairs," where I completed 3 internships in 4 different childcare facilities.

Study: "Szenische Künste" Scenic Arts - University of Hildesheim (2021-2023)

In 2021, I began my studies at the University of Hildesheim in the "Scenic Arts" program, focusing on the main subject of "Film and Moving Image," with minors in Theater Studies and Fine Arts. During my time there, I worked on various film and video projects, collaborating with mentors such as Monika Treut and Ute Adamczewski. Additionally, three of my photographs were featured in a student photo exhibition, and I engaged in performance activities, including leading a workshop for FSJ volunteers.

Study: Fine Arts - Braunschweig University of Art - Film Class (Since 2023)

After my 4th semester at the University of Hildesheim, I transferred to the Fine Arts program at the Braunschweig University of Art, joining Michael Brynntrup's Film Class. It didn't take long for me to be absolutely certain that it was a truly good decision. What I particularly like is the great freedom given to me as a student, allowing me to study and experiment artistically with much less pressure, but with much more passion and love for the work. Even though I learned a lot in Hildesheim, the transfer to Braunschweig was a true liberation of my artistic soul. Since then, I not only feel more confident navigating life and the art world, but also that I have developed a completely new perspective on art and being an artist. <3

From Hobby to Profession

Weekly Film Course "Spiel_Film" / "Contraphilm" at the "Schule der Künste " (School of Arts) Schwerin (2012-2020)

For over 8 years, I attended the regular film course at the School of Arts Schwerin, where I found many friends and like-minded individuals. In addition to countless films shot, songs sung, and a joint acting vernissage to open a photo exhibition, my personal highlights included youth cultural exchanges in Mongolia (2015) and the Togolese Republic (2017).

Mecklenburg State Theater: Youth Club (2016-2020) / Extras (2017-2021)

My time in the theater's youth club significantly contributed to shaping my understanding of myself as an artistic individual. The world of theater captivated and enchanted me from the start, and without the wonderful experiences I gained there, I likely wouldn't have made the decision to pursue a new career path in the artistic field. I particularly enjoyed my work in the extras department, where I not only performed on stage but also assisted with stage setups and changes both on, behind, and beneath the stage. Some of my personal highlights as an extra were my roles as a Young Collector in "A Streetcar Name Desire" (Director: Martin Nimz) and as a hairdresser and deer in "Der Rosenkavalier" (Director: Toni Burkhardt).

I'm really thankful for the experiences I had at the Schwerin Art School and the theater. Without those opportunities to get involved (even without money), I wouldn't have ended up on the path I'm on now. Those experiences have inspired me to create art with regular folks, not just trained artists. That's why I enjoy working artistically with my friends; I think I learn as much from their perspective as they do from mine. Plus, it's just more fun with friends! Moving forward, I want to do more projects with people who aren't part of the art scene.
